The place
Bombombom’s terrace
Bom Bom Bom sits on Rua Angelina Vidal in the Anjos neighbourhood, in a building with one of the better terraces in Lisbon. Natural wines, a kitchen run with genuine ambition, a record shop in the corner, and DJs most weekends. Jazz sessions when the mood calls for it. Opened in 2022, it found its crowd quickly.
The space does a lot of things at once and makes none of them feel forced. A long brick bar, an open kitchen, dried plants, vinyl everywhere. It calls itself a wine bar. It could just as easily call itself a restaurant.
The work
Volet handled visual content production for BomBomBom over six months, covering the full range of what the place is.
The kitchen is run by Cassandra Moreira, whose cooking leans heavily on Portuguese produce, some of it coming directly from her family's farm. Creative without being showy. The kind of food that earns its place on a table next to a good natural wine. Shooting it meant working with natural light, letting the ingredients read clearly without staging them into something they're not.
The ambiance required a different approach. Flash for the bar, the records, the people. The interior has texture worth capturing: the brick, the green, the open kitchen behind the counter. Two registers, same shoot.
The two-year birthday was the centrepiece of the collaboration. A day-long event with DJs rotating from early afternoon well into the night. The terrace was full, the mood was loud in the best sense, and the kitchen kept pace throughout. Photographing it meant staying present across several hours and several shifts of energy without losing the thread.
The work, in full
A sun-drenched terrace, a kitchen that takes the food seriously, a record shop, and a birthday party that ran from afternoon to midnight. Six months of content that held all of it at once without flattening it into a mood board.
